Our Hosting of the RoadKill 2007 ProjectWe are happy
to be hosting RoadKill 2007 on our CommunityNet server.
We feel the project lends itself to an unusual opportunity for study
of the community while focusing on the incidence of wildlife tragedies
on its roadways.
We are hopeful that students will look closely at their
town or city and evaluate ways that roadkill might be prevented. Some
may even identify fractured wildlife corridors as a result of this project
and conduct further study to discover methods of roadkill prevention. The original RoadKill project was part of a National Science Foundation grant to Simmons College in Boston. Paul Colombo, webmaster for EduTel, was the creator of the web interface at Simmons when this project first began. He has now taken the project to a more interactive level by providing an online database that can be fully used by all who register for the project. We hope you enjoy the RoadKill 2007 project. We would enjoy hearing your comments or feedback. |
