The Pond Team/Science Discovery Museum - The Great Hill Conservation Pond in Acton, MA. This pond was built around 1987 for ice skating. At the time of construction, the Pond had about 1.3 acres surface area and was about 6 feet deep in the center.

The Stream Study provides a method to determine the water quality of a stream based on the collection and identification of stream-bottom macroinvertebrates. Macroinvertebrates are animals that have no backbone and are visible without magnification. Stream-bottom macroinvertebrates include such animals as crayfish, mussels, aquatic snails, aquatic worms, and the larvae of aquatic insects.
