Betty Curley


My name is Betty Curley. I have worked for the Lowell School system for the past 9 years.

My work experience has been in the Two - Way Bilingual Spanish model, and currently I teach kindergarten in the Spanish Bilingual Model at the McAvinnue Elementary School.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts Psychology/Sociology/ Early Childhood Education. I am currently in the process of getting a Master of Education Degree specializing in English As A Second Language.

Maribel Gervais

I am a First Grade Bilingual Teacher at the Joseph A. McAvinnue School in Lowell. I have been teaching in Lowell since 1992.

I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Lowell from the age of two. I attended Lowell public schools from first to ninth grade. My parents then moved our family back to Puerto Rico where I graduated from Comerío High School.

I attended the University of Puerto Rico in Cayey and earned my bachelor degree in Elementary Education. I am presently working towards my masters in ESL. My hobbies include reading, drawing and computers.
