Opinion Writing Assignment

In the book Poppy by Avi, Mr. Ocax deserved to die.

First, Mr. Ocax deserved to pass away because now the mice can move to New House without having ask for permission to move.

Second, know that Mr. Ocax is gone, the mice won't have to worry about getting eaten by Mr. Ocax. When the mice do something wrong, Mr. Ocax might eat them as a punishment. Poppy can go up on Bank Hill without fearing danger.

Third, Mr. Ocax deserved to die because he lied to Poppy and her family. He said that porcupines eat deer mice, but porcupines are vegetarians.

Mr. Ocax said that he protects the mice from getting eaten by porcupines. Mr. Ocax is selfish and cruel owl and that is why I think Mr. Ocax deserved to die.


In the book Poppy by Avi, I think that Mr. Ocax should have perished because he lied to Poppy's family.

First, he said that porcupines eat mice, but that's not true, porcupines are vegetarians.

Second, Mr. Ocax lied about porcupines eating mice because he was selfish and wanted to eat all the mice himself.

Third, he wouldn't let Poppy's family move to New House. He wouldn't let them move because he was dismayed at the owl who lived at New House. He thought that the the owl at New House would eat all the mice if they moved and he wouldn't have any food, Mr. Ocax didn't know that it was fake.

Finally, he tried to eat Poppy. Instead, he crashed into the salt lick and he died. Mr. Ocax lied and only cared about himself, that is why I think that he deserved to die.
