Barn Owl

The barn owl has many physical characteristics. The color of the Barn Owl is very different from any other owl. It has gray spots on its back. It also has white feathers on its beak, chest, legs, wings, and outside of its eyes. The scientific name for the Barn Owl is "Tyto Abla", for white owl. The voice of the Barn Owl is a high pitched screech, like a tiny mouse. The Barn Owl can grow up to 32 to 40 cm. The Barn Owl can weigh up to 470 to 570 grams. Those are some physical characteristics of the Barn Owl.

The Barn Owl has lots of habitats. If they have a choice, they prefer to make their nests in hollow trees or holes in cliffs. They also live in barns, churches, and other deserted buildings. Barn Owls can be found in open country areas. They also live in mostly in North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Africa. Those are some facts about the Barn Owls' habitat.

Next, are some facts about how Barn Owls hunt for food. Barn Owls specialize hunting small animals that live close to the ground. Barn Owls dig their sharp talons into their prey and snatch them up. That is how the Barn Owl hunts to get its food.

Barn Owls breed. Barn Owls will breed any during the year, depending on the food supply. They lay 3 to 6 eggs which are laid over 2 days. Those are some ways Barn Owls breed.
