Internet Night

Date: Wednesday, April 11, 7:00pm-8:00pm

AGENDA

1. Welcome/Introduction/Parent Survey

Teachers will welcome and explain computer/internet usage in school and the pbtil project (possible speaker?: Paul Colombo). Parents will fill out a computer survey.

2. Using a Computer and Logging On

Parents will have the opportunity to practice turning on a computer, opening Netscape and/or Internet Explorer, and entering a URL.

3. Exploring "PBTIL" site and Virtual Postcards

Parents and students will log on to the PBTIL website and explore specific pages. They will then learn how to open and use the virtual postcard area and send a postcard to their child.

4. Educational Internet Sites and/or Free Email Accounts

Parents will be given a list of educational websites and resources that can be used at home. They will have time to enter into one of the web sites and explore!

5. Discussion and Question/Answer Time

Teachers and parents will share ideas over cookies and coffee (in hallway!)
