Pat O'Connor -

Pat O'Connor Ms. O'Connor has been at Comprehensive Grammar School in Methuen since it opened in 1990. She has been with the Methuen Public Schools for over 25 years. During this time Ms. O'Connor has been a teacher of reading, a special needs resource teacher, as well a teacher of children in grades one, two and three.

Ms. O'Connor has also taught in Japan, Okinawa and Germany. It was during this time that she experienced what it was like to live in a culture where her first language was not the common language. Out of this experience Ms. O'Connor became interested in second language acquisition and is presently completing a Master of Education Program at the University Of Lowell in the Teaching of English as a Second Language.

Our second grade class here at CGS is a group of twenty-three. We are all monolingual in English. A few of us have parents who speak a second language. We are really looking forward to working with children who can speak in two languages and we are hoping we will learn some Spanish from them.
