Community Partnerships
Grade One students at the Mayflower School in Middleboro, MA and their teacher Mrs. Anita Rodriguez have established partnerships between their class, parents, and The Cape Cod Cranberry Growers' Association. During an interdisciplinary class project centering on cranberries, the students and parents published Middleboro's Cranberry Cookbook which is dedicated to The Cape Cod Cranberry Growers. A representative from the Cranberry Growers came into the classroom to show the students a film and to guide "A Bog in a Cup", a hands-on activity to show how cranberries grow. The students wrote descriptions of photos of local bogs. To see students' projects and activities click here.
The Middleboro Fire Department and first grade students at the Mayflower School work together for fire prevention and safety.

Global Partnerships

Community partnerships will be a focal point of the CommunityNet project. Many school districts have already advanced this idea in building "bridges" bewteen the school and workplace. If you would like to showcase an existing model in this area please contact us.
