I am interested in the Joseph Palmer story. His persecution for wearing a
beard seems to me a story worth investigating. Do you have more information
re Palmer and if so where would I look for it. As I am very new to this wonderful world of computers, any assistance would
be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Making family tree and need info on Dryden cemetery near Ashley, Il.
where my ggg grandfather is baried. He was a veterin and survivor of
Andersonville Prison, in Georgia.
Thank You, Debra Jo-ann King
My 8th grade history classes have been doing cemeterey studies for
the past
five years. We would be interested in sharing the information that we collect.
We would need to know what information you need for your database and
would begin collecting and submiting information this year.
Information previously gathered may not be useful to you depending on what
data you track from each cemetery. We would also be happay to send you samples
of student work after we complete this year's study.

The Joseph Palmer grave in leominster ... Joseph Palmer was much more than a
trouble maker as it can be costrued by the info you recieved from
Hazard/Sanabria... He was an important figure with the "transendentalists"
who set up with those such as the "Alcotts " in Harvard Mass. (the fruitlands
museum) Joseph Palmer was a free thinking individual who like
Thoreau ... walked to the beat of a different drummer ... He was instrumental in
teaching the transcendentalists how to survive in there Utopian society
(although they didn't because their style of life was not compatible with the
hostility of the enviorment in primitive times. (eg. cotton clothes don't cut
the mustard in a cold New England winter) anyway he stood up for the rights
of the individual in all regards ... not only for his wearing a beard ...
