Clinton,
MA - Protecting Our Townscapes

In
the Visual Treasures: Protecting Our Townscapes project, middle
and high school students from Clinton, MA will develop a visual
awareness and appreciation for their community. Teachers and
students will use CUBE's
Community Connections, and with the support of the Clinton
Historical Society will further develop curricula that is particular
to Clinton's townscape as well as state educational frameworks.
This year-long project is being funded by the Dunn
Foundation of Warwick, RI.

Project
Technologies
Students will use photography, artwork, and writing to show the
visual richness of the town, and will electronically publish selected
works on this web site, including virtual postcards. As a method
to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas, a moderated
web-based Community Message Board and the Electronic Postcard
Forum will be available to partipating students, as well as other
students, schools and organizations involved in Visual Environmental
Education.

Middle
and high school students and teachers in Language Arts, Social
Studies, and Science will participate in this year long project
which will be facilitated by the Clinton Historical Society,
Clinton Planning Board and Conservation Commission. The project
will focus on the Town of Clinton, an ethnically diverse working
town, which is located in Central Massachusetts.
