Post-Modern Architecture:
Emphasis on Diversity

By Michael

Post-Modern architects have continued to reflect architectural heritage by combining historically important details with contemporary materials and designs more like organic sculptures. Robert Venturi is among such architects. His buildings are designed to capture the essence of their purpose an example is Vanna Venturi House, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.

The dynamic surge of Post-Modern architecture is not limited to a few designers. Instead, many architects are reaching for new concepts and ideas and are dotting the urban American landscapes with exciting structures.

St. Mary's Church is a perfect example. The structure is organic rather than geometric and one third of the building is made up of large geometric stain glass, which historically reflects a place of worship.
