Barn Tour
This view shows one of the original granite support columns. When the Haines family purchased the property the barn had moved 16 inches off of its foundation and was near collapsing. Mark used a chain "come along" anchored to a maple tree in the rear of the barn to "inch" the structure back to its original position. This is a very slow process accomplished with hydraulic pressure being applied to the structure a little bit at a time.
You can also see in this photo the temporary supports of rail road timbers and iron poles. To the far right in the photo is the dry wall construction of the original foundation.
